Mountaineering Associations 
The BMC (British Mountaineering Council) is the representative body that exists to protect the freedoms and promote the interests of climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers.  
MLTA - The Mountain Leader Training Association is part of MLT, the co-ordinating body for all mountain training schemes in the UK. 
MLTA - MLT is responsible for all mountain training schemes in the UK. The MLT also represents the UK internationally in matters related to mountain training and works to secure national and international recognition of the awards.  
 
The Ramblers exists to promote walking outdoors, protect the right of way, and defend the beauty of the countryside by campaigning for walkers to roam over open land.

Walking Britain - With over 13,000 pages  
of walking information, including many walk descriptions, "Walking Britain" is dedicated to the footpaths that cross the landscape. The National Parks feature strongly in the lists of walks including the Lake District, the Peak District and Snowdonia, not to mention the Yorkshire Dales.
